At the Awards People we’re big fans of word clouds. We love the way that you can express lots of things in just one glance and we’d love to have one here to represent the feelings our clients and colleagues express when speaking of their involvement with awards. Sadly word clouds don’t make for particularly exciting blog posts so here instead is a very simple summary of just some of the most common words our guests on ‘The Sofa of Success’ have used when we asked them about their particular awards experience.
On being nominated;
- Overjoyed
- Humble
- Proud
- Appreciated
- Recognised
At the application stage;
- Excitement
- Trepidation
- Uncertainty
- Modesty
- Nervousness
When finalists are announced;
- Amazed
- Excited
- Surprised
- Honoured
- Worthy
On winning;
- Overwhelmed
- Beaming
- Elated
- Proud
- Chuffed-to-bits (mentioned so many times we couldn’t ignore it!!)
And after;
- Door opening
- Phone ringing
- Contacts
- Opportunities
- Verified
It’s not difficult to see that the vast majority of those who have entered or been nominated for an award (be it personal or for their business) have very, very positive things to say about the process and what it has done for them – and their bottom line.
We’d love to see this kind of feel-good factor spread far and wide amongst the community and that is why we urge every business to consider entering at least one award within the next 12 months. Yes, some may be simple to enter and others may take a little more time to do justice but remember that help is at hand from friends, colleagues – and from award-entry professionals such as The Awards People! There really are few other opportunities like awards for making great business connections and all of a sudden becoming very, very visible to those who matter.
Don’t put it off any longer! Make sure your plans for 2019 include at least one award and see what all the fuss is about.
