Revealed! The Winning Award Template!
OK, so we may have been a little bit naughty with the title of this blog. The truth is we couldn’t show you an actual ‘winning award template’ because no such thing exists (and if anyone tries to tell you it does, then they are very much mistaken – or misleading…).
We are bona fide awards experts here at The Awards People and trust us, if there was an application which would guarantee your win simply by inserting your company name and details, we’d happily share it. The truth is there isn’t because every award / category has different criteria to meet and no two entrant’s experiences will be exactly the same.
Disappointment over…what we can offer is a jolly good idea of what will increase your chances of success. There are tips we can provide for every individual element of award entry – from choosing which ones to go for in the first place to making the final ‘sense-check’ before submission.
As you can imagine there are enough tips to fill a book, never mind a blog post and we’d urge you to look at some of our previous posts to get down to the nitty gritty of specific award entry topics. This particular offering is very much intended to be an ‘at a glance’ guide to what, in our experienced opinion, the perfect award entry might look like. So, here goes…
The perfect award application will be;
- In a category which has been researched for relevance and suitability
- Planned and constructed well in advance of the closing date
- A good match to the questions asked within the entry pack
- An interesting read with structure, hooks and a compelling story
- Comfortably within the word limit allowed
- Checked, re-checked and checked again
- Critiqued by someone other than the author
- Submitted without stress, ahead of the final deadline
Now, as you can imagine, we cannot guarantee success (regardless of the fact that we are award writing champions). What we can promise, however, is that in following the ‘must do’ steps highlighted above, you will certainly be in serious contention and will have given yourself the very best chance of winning. What’s more, if you fail to achieve a podium place you know that it will have been more about the strong competition and comparative level of excellence achieved by others rather than simply being down to the fact that your actual entry could have been better presented.
At The Awards People we know how to get your entry noticed by the judges – for all the right reasons. If you feel that you would like us to share some more of our tips to make your application a stand-out one, then simply get in touch with Rach on 07976 806578
